It’s a way to open your heart (and focus on appreciating what she did do for you instead of what she didn’t do).

Love Meditation about Moms
Dear Mom, Mama, Mother, Mommy,
Thank you for being my Mom.
Thank you for giving me food and shelter
for all those months in your womb.
Thank you for sharing your life force and your resources with me.
If anyone else took care of me for that many months,
I would never forget them!
And so I want to remember what you have done for me.
If 9 months was ALL you could do for me in this lifetime,
it would be more than enough.
It is a miracle that you fed me, sheltered me
and carried me inside your body’s temple.
And so I want to acknowledge you as my birth mother.
I thank you. I bow to you. I honor you.
And I think of the Mom who provided me
food, clothing and shelter after those 9 months…
You who sustained me for years as I learned
to walk, to speak and interact with this world…
You who kept me alive as I gained skills,
discovered myself and became independent…
I want to remember your incredible effort and generosity.
Whether you accidentally or intentionally invited me into your life…
Whether you were happy or resentful that I was there…
Whether you were confident or scared while raising me…
I want to acknowledge your great strength and endurance.
I want to acknowledge you as a Mother.
Whether you rarely or often made mistakes…
Whether you agreed or disagreed with my choices…
I want to acknowledge all the gifts that you shared with me.
I want to acknowledge you as a Mother.
You are a symbol of Creation in this amazing Universe.
You are a part of the Great Mother that has existed
from the beginning of Time.
I came to you empty-handed, without a name,
without a skill, without a promise of anything.
Yet you gave me a chance at this life.
You took me in when I didn’t have an identity, income, shelter or food.
You took me in when I couldn’t appreciate, understand or help you.
So I want to acknowledge you and all
the other Mothers who exist on this planet.
Grandmothers, step-mothers, foster mothers, aunties, sisters,
teachers and all caregivers who have played a motherly role…
I want to remember all that you have done
for me, for us, for your children.
We are forever grateful.
We thank you. We bow to you. We honor you.
Thank you Mom, Mama, Mother… Mommy.
